Goan Fish Curry
Getting bored in lockdown try this Most famous and popular dish . As coconut and fish are the main ingredients, this dish is full of omega, magnesium and proteins. It’s yum to your tongue also. Spare 40 minutes for this dish.
Marinate fish first
Fish 600 gms basa
Ginger garlic paste 2 tea spoons
Lemon juice. 2 tea spoons
Salt according to taste
Haldi a pinch
Hing a pinch
Deeghi mirch 1/4 tea spoonwith
Oil 1 tsp
Marinate fish for 15 mintues .
After that take flat pan grease with oil a little and shallow fry a little avoiding too much browning , tossing both side is must.
Let’s start making gravy now as fish is already marinated and shallow fried
You need
- 4 red dry chillies,
- 1 tsp cumin seed,
- 5-6 pepper corn
- Take two small onions and slice
- Grated fresh coconut preferred 1/4 cup
- Tamarind pulp/ kokum or lemon juice 1tsp
- Deeghi mirch 1 1/2 tea
( it gives rich red colour to dish)
- Dry roast these ( 4 red dry chillies, 1 tsp cumin seed, 5-6 pepper corn) just for few seconds on hot pan
- Take two small onions and slice them and with little oil roast till little reddish in colour.
- Grated fresh coconut preferred 1-4 th cup
Step 1.
Grind 1/ 2 / 3 together
Step 2.
add little salt according to taste, haldi , deeghi mirch , tamarind pulp( if not available ,kokum can also be used else lemon juice is saviour, but slight taste variation be felt ).
Step 3.
Take 4 tea spoons of oil and add grind mixture and keep stirring on low flame. Add whatever leftover juice of marination be added and stirr for while and add one cup water and let this boil. Add shallow fry fish fillets in gravy and cook for 10 -15 mintues . Enjoy with rice .
